Fort Foster Rendezvous

Although on the cool side, a few brave members ventured South on Saturday, February 14th for the Annual Fort Foster Rendezvous, located in Thonotosassa, Florida Territory on US 301. The Native American Seminoles, Civilian Artisans and Military were friendly and colorful in their period dress which takes us back to the middle of the 1830’s. Sutlers, crafts and demonstrations were in evidence and in addition to canon firings and a skirmish at the bridge over the Hillsborough River. The recreated fort, structures and camp grounds add to the authenticity to the time and place. Another worthwhile event to keep in mind for future venues.
